To Our Dear Patients,
We are happy to announce we are starting our reopening process May 18th. This is very exciting as it will mean we can get back to what we love doing most – treating your oral health needs! We cannot thank you enough for your patience during this unprecedented time. We know many of you had appointments that were cancelled during our mandatory closure. Our front office staff will be reaching out to you over the course of the next few weeks to reschedule these appointments. We ask that you continue to be patient during this rescheduling process and wait for our front office to contact you.
Infection control has always been a top priority of our practice and the dental profession as a whole. We are following the infection control recommendations made by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), OSHA and the American Dental Association. We have implemented the following interim protocols to ensure the safety of not only you as our patient but also for each of our team members.
For all appointments:
Our office will contact you before your appointment to ask screening questions, which will be reviewed again at the time of your appointment.
If your insurance has changed, please notify our office at least 2 days prior to your appointment
Please attempt to arrive 5 minutes early to your appointment. Once you arrive please remain in your car and call our office to let us know you are here. We will notify you when we ready for you to enter the office
Per CDC recommendations, we ask each patient to wear a mask when entering the office
You will be given hand sanitizer and screened for fever
If your temperature is 100.4, you will be asked to reschedule your appointment
Prior to your appointment, please take the time to read and sign our COVID-19 consent form which will be in a separate email. If you have any questions regarding this, please call our office for assistance.
Bathroom access will be extremely limited, so please be mindful of such prior to your appointment.
Only the patient will be allowed in the treatment areas with the exception of caretakers and a parent of our young patients when absolutely necessary.
Due to the added protective equipment our team members will be using, the office will be kept at a cooler temperature. You may want to bring a sweater or jacket. We will no longer be able to offer neck pillows/blankets as before. You are welcome to bring your own to use during your appointment.
To minimize interactions, payment will be collected over the phone when possible prior to your appointment
For hygiene appointments:
We are following the current interim guidelines by postponing the use of ultrasonic scalers to minimize generation of aerosols. Your hygienist will utilize hand scaling and prophy polishing to treat your needs. We will be closely monitoring for any updates when ultrasonic scalers can be safely used again. At the start of your appointment you will be rinsing with a diluted solution of hydrogen peroxide/water. We ask if you have any current dental concerns to please inform our office prior to your appointment.
While we always strive to keep patients with their doctor preferences for exams, please understand for the interim we may not always be able to accommodate. Our commitment is for your safety and in order to effectively utilize our PPE available, Dr Snyder and Dr Oliver will have assigned “exam schedules”. Rest assured you still have the choice of which doctor you would like to schedule your dental treatment with.
Steps we are taking to ensure everyone’s safety:
All staff will have their temperature taken each morning
All staff will be asked screening questions each morning
All “touchable” surfaces (door knobs, handles, etc) will be disinfected on a recurring schedule by staff
All magazines, books have been removed from waiting area
Plexiglass has been installed at each check out area within our front office
All staff will be wearing masks
Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the office
Staff will have completed fit check tests to ensure proper fit of N95 respirators during procedures
To minimize interaction, payment will be requested prior to your appointment
Blankets, neck pillows will no longer be provided
Extended appointment times for each procedure which will allow for additional time to properly disinfect and sanitize operatories
